Accessibility statement
Many people who use this site are older, disabled, or caring for someone who is, so accessibility is central to it. Last reviewed 1 September 2026.
Our commitment
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this entire website. British Columbia's Accessible BC Act currently binds the public sector rather than private companies, but the BC Human Rights Code duty to accommodate applies to us now, and more to the point, an inaccessible website fails precisely the people this business exists to serve.
What we have done
- Text is larger than the web default and scales with your browser setting.
- Pages work at 400% zoom and on small phones without scrolling sideways.
- Text meets WCAG 2.2 AA colour contrast.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Buttons and links are large enough to tap easily.
- Our phone number is in the same place on every page.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced.
- Meaningful images have text descriptions.
- Nothing moves, flashes or plays on its own.
- The site works with JavaScript switched off, and follows your light or dark setting.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
What is not good enough yet
An accessibility statement that claims everything is perfect is not credible. These are the gaps we know about:
It has not yet been tested by people who rely on assistive technology
It has been built to WCAG 2.2 AA and checked with automated tools, keyboard testing and 400% zoom, but not yet by someone who uses a screen reader daily, or by an independent accessibility specialist. We intend to arrange that.
Long guides are long
Some guides are long. Each has an on-page contents list, but there is no summary version yet.
Some third-party links go to less accessible sites
We link to health authority and government pages because they are the authoritative source. We do not control their accessibility.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know, and we will fix it, not just log it.
- Email hello@brillianthomecare.ca
- Phone 604-388-8730
Tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within two business days with either a fix or a date for one.
If a web page is standing between you and arranging care, phone us and we will do it with you. Nobody needs to use this website to become a client.
Other ways to reach us
Everything on this site can be done by phone. We can post printed information, arrange an in-person visit, work with a family member or interpreter you nominate, and read anything here aloud over the phone.
