Home care in Port Moody
Port Moody is next door to our Coquitlam office, and it is two places in one: flat, walkable streets around the inlet, and steep hillside neighbourhoods above it where the walk to the bus stop is the hard part of the day.
Fraser Health, Tri-Cities Home Health
Port Moody is Fraser Health. Its Tri-Cities Home Health office is in Port Moody, and new clients start through Fraser Health’s home health line. Publicly funded home support begins with an assessment, it is income-tested, and where it meets the need it costs less than we do. Ask there first.
Our costs and funding guide explains the other ways families pay, including CSIL for people who want to manage their own funding.
Getting around
Moody Centre is on both the SkyTrain and the West Coast Express, and Inlet Centre is on the SkyTrain. Above the inlet, a car is the practical way in, and we schedule for the real drive up the hill, not the distance on a map.
Close to our office
Our office is in Coquitlam, next door. That makes Port Moody one of the easiest places for us to cover early mornings, evenings and short visits. Ask us about your address.
Local knowledge
The hills decide what independence looks like
The city itself notes that its steep residential streets, such as Heritage Mountain Boulevard, Forest Parkway and Glenayre Drive, make walking harder for older people and anyone using a mobility aid. A person who manages well indoors can still be cut off by the slope outside, so we plan errands and outings around it.
The hospital is in town
Eagle Ridge Hospital is in Inlet Centre, close to the SkyTrain. A discharge from there can mean the first visit happens the same afternoon. Tell us the ward and the expected date, and we will plan the trip home and the first days around it.
Newer houses, built for families
Heritage Mountain, Twin Creeks, Noons Creek, Mountain Meadows and Heritage Woods are relatively new, mostly houses and townhouses on several levels. We look at which stairs are actually used every day and plan care around those.
